On Thursday, January 25th, 10:00am-12:00pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a Korean cooking class  “(Non-fermented) Kimchi & Bossam.”
 
For this cooking class, we will be making “geotjeori kimchi” or  non-fermented Kimchi. Another dish that we will make is “bossam.” Bossam is a pork dish in Korean cuisine. The main ingredient is pork belly, boiled in spices and then thinly sliced. The meat is served with side dishes including garlic, onion, ssamjang (wrap sauce), saeujeot (pickled, fermented shrimp) and geotjeori kimchi. Upon eating, the meat and sides are often wrapped in vegetable leaves such as red lettuce, sesame or napa cabbage, hence the literal meaning of bossam is "wrapped" or "packaged."
 
The venue of the class is Cheongjeongwon cooking studio near Ewha Woman’s Univ. The participation fee is 15,000won. You can sign up in person or by email only.
