|On Tuesday, June 4th, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Itaewon Global Village Center and National Folk Museum of Korea, will be hosting a “Tteok and Aengduhwachae Making Class” in celebration of Dano (Korean Festival).
“Dano” is a traditional shamanistic ritual in worship of the sky deity in celebration of the end of the sowing season. To celebrate, locals make “surichiwitteok” (a kind of circular rice cake) and “aengduhwachae” (a kind of juice or punch made of Korean cherry).
Dano festival is designated by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
This day, National Folk Museum of Korea will be teaching us about Dano Festival and how to make rice cake and cherry juice for FREE.
Limited spots are available. Complete details will be emailed to you after registration. To register by email, send us your name, nationality, and phone number.
