|On Friday, June 14th, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, Itaewon Global Village Center, in cooperation with Yongsan Crafts Museum, will hold a “Hanji Craft Class.”
This time participants will be making a cute dual pencil holder using different colors of Korean traditional paper, called Hanji. Hanji is a paper made from all natural ingredients and it has been used in Korea for centuries. In the past, it was used in daily life, making books, windows and doors. The paper is so durable that layered Hanji was even used as an armor that could stop arrows. These days Hanji is used for mostly decorative purposes such as making dolls, wrapping paper, decorative boxes, and other handicrafts.
This class is perfect for beginners and even hanji enthusiasts! It can also serve as a good gift for your friends or love ones.
