|On Tuesday, July 23rd, 3:00pm-4:30pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Hanji Paper Making and Museum Tour for Kids” in Jong Ie Nara Paper Art Museum.
Paper is made of plant fibers soaked in water and pressed together. Korean paper, Hanji has been made using this technique for over 1500 years. It is made of mulberry bark or “Dak” in Korean. Kids will learn how to make Hanji and experience the process of making Hanji by scooping the water of Dak fibers using strainer. Children will also decorate hanji with colored paper or dried flowers to create their own Hanji. Children age above 6 (international age) can join.
While waiting for the hanji to be dried, children and parents will walk for a tour around the paper art museum exhibition hall. You will see various works made of paper.
The fee would be 10,000 won (per person who join for Hanji making). You can sign up in person or by email only. (Only Foreigners can join this program.)
