|제목||20200130_Korean Vegan Cooking Class|
|On Thursday, January 30th (1:00pm-2:30pm), the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Vegan Cooking Class: Tteok Mandu Soup.” Tteok is the Korean word for “rice cake,” and “mandu” is the Korean term for dumplings. It is usually eaten during Seolnal (Korean New Year).
This class will be held at the Korean Temple Food Center, and because of that this is not an ordinary “Vegan Cooking Class” as we will be following the “temple food cooking standard”— to live as one in nature by eating food in its natural state. For this reason, their cooking style is focused on how a dish can showcase the natural taste of each ingredient without using too much seasonings and aromatics. Added to that, most of the ingredients used in the class are harvested in temples. Therefore, most ingredients are organic, fresh, and seasonal. The ingredients that will be used for this class will be announced later (depending on the harvest, ingredients might change on the day of the class).
The instructor for this session is Buddhist nun monk. The participation fee is 10,000 won. You can sign up in person or by email only. To sign up by email, please email us your name, nationality, phone number and email address. (NOTE: Pre-registration and pre-payment are required for this class.)
