|제목||20200225_Hula Dance Class|
|On Tuesday, February 25th (from 10:30am to 12:30pm), Itaewon Global Village Center will host a “Hula Dance Class”. You will be learning basic movements of Hula dance in the tune of “Hukilau.”
Hula is a Polynesian dance form accompanied by chant or song. It was developed in the Hawaiian Islands by the Polynesians who originally settled there. Hula dancing is a complex art form, and there are many hand motions used to represent the words in a song or chant. For example, hand movements can signify aspects of nature, such as the swaying of a tree in the breeze or a wave in the ocean, or a feeling or emotion, such as fondness or yearning.
Dancing hula helps keep composure under any circumstances and feel less stressed, which is thanks to the aloha spirit which means mutual regard, affection and warmth in caring. In addition, regardless of age, gender and physical abilities, everybody can hula dance to their capabilities, enabling people in their 70s and 80s to try it.
