|On Friday, February 28th from 10:00am-1:00pm, Itaewon Global Village Center, in cooperation with National Folk Museum of Korea (near Anguk Station), will hold a “Hanji Craft Class.”
For this class, participants will be making a circular tray using different colors of Korean traditional paper, called Hanji. Hanji is a paper made from all natural ingredients and it has been used in Korea for centuries. In the past, it was used in daily life, making books, windows and doors. The paper is so durable that layered Hanji was even used as an armor that could stop arrows. These days Hanji is used for mostly decorative purposes such as making dolls, wrapping paper, decorative boxes, and other handicrafts.
This class is perfect for beginners and even hanji enthusiasts! It can also serve as a good gift for your friends or loved ones.
