|제목||Korean Calligraphy Class|
On Friday, October 7th, 10:00am~12:00pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a Korean calligraphy class celebrating Hangul Day.
Do you wish happiness and health for your family? Do you wish that the rest of 2016 will be a meaningful year for your family? If there is anything that you wish for this year, this class will be a great time for you to write your family motto on a Korean hanging scroll.
Most Korean families have their own motto, called “ga-hoon.” Korea’s Confucianist culture emphasizes education so Korean parents used ga-hoon to teach their children good behavior and morals. This practice has been passed down through generations.
The teacher for this class is a professional calligrapher who will help you write your family motto in Korean by using the a traditional Korean brush and ink. Those who can’t write or read Korean can also write the motto easily with the teacher’s help. In this class, you will practice writing the motto several times. Then, you will write the motto on a beautiful Korean hanging scroll.
This will be a great chance for you to learn about ga-hoon and Korean calligraphy. If you display your family motto in your house, it will motivate you to follow the motto whenever you see it. Also, the displayed motto will look like a beautiful artwork.
The participation fee for the class is 15,000won. You can sign up in person or by email only.
*** This program is only for foreigners.
