On Friday, September 23rd, 2:00pm-4:00pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a Korean Baking Class “Chartteok Pie & Yuja Madeleine.”
The first menu is Chartteok Pie, it is very similar to glutinous rice cake in Korea. In classical way of baking this pie, main ingredients are various nuts and beans. But this time, we will try more modernized recipe by using colorful berries and vegetables. Instead of steaming like rice cake making, it will be baked in the oven.
The second menu is Yuja Madeleine, Yuja means citron in Korean. Yuja is one of the most well known local ingredients in Jeju Island for its sweet and aromatic flavor. For this reason, many Korean recipes are using Yuja as a main ingredient and a secret ingredient of the dish.
Each participants will make one small Chartteok Pie and 8 Madeleines(the whole tray). This will be made individually (not a group activity).
The venue of the class is Cheongjeongwon Cooking Studio near Ewha Woman’s University. The participation fee is 20,000 won. You can sign up in person or by email only.
