제목 Hanbok Wine Cover Making Class

On Friday, December 16th, 1:00pm~3:00pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Korean costume (Hanbok) wine cover class.” Participants will make a gorgeous wine cover by making a mini-hanbok (Korean traditional costume).

This wine cover is not only practical but also traditional. A man and a woman will make a wine cover shaped like a man’s hanbok and a woman’s hanbok, respectively. Gonryongpo(곤룡포) is a costume that Korean kings wore for working. Hwangryongpo(황룡포) was made of gold silk, and hongryongpo(홍룡포) was made of red silk. On the part of the chest, back, and shoulders, a dragon shape that has five claws(오조룡원보) was attached. Women in the Joseon Dynasty period wore dang-ui when they needed to show courtesy. In the palace, women wore dang-ui as a casual costume. Dang-ui for a queen has a dragon shape that has five claws just like a king's costume, and dang-ui for other women has an oriental phoenix shape.

When you sign up the class, you need to choose one item between Man and Woman hanbok. In case you would make a pair, please inform us in advance because the instructor needs to prepare the materials. The participation fee is 20,000 won(per item). You can sign up in person or by email only. (Only foreigners can join this class.)
