From January 16th(Mon) to 20th(Fri), 10:00am~12:00pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Korean Calligraphy Course” in celebration of Seollal, Korean lunar new year’s day.
This class will be a great opportunity to learn the basics of Korean calligraphy and write down your family motto, plan, or wish for 2017.
The course curriculum is as described below:
Day 1: Introduction on tools for calligraphy, Basic lines lessons
Day 2: Hangeul Panbonche font
Day 3: Hangeul Calligraphy writing
Day 4: Sagunja(the four gracious plants: plum, orchid, chrysanthemum, and bamboo) drawing
Day 5: Writing on a scroll
Please note that there will be only one scroll provided which will be distributed on the last day. From day 1 to day 4, the instructor will teach the basics and practices of calligraphy. You can still keep all the papers you wrote during the class.
We can only accept few people, so please book it fast. The participation fee for this one-week course is 40,000won which covers both lessons and materials. You can sign up in person or by email only. (Only foreigners can join this program.)
