On Friday, June 16th, 9:30am-12:00am, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Bukchon Hanok Village Walking Tour & Dasik (traditional pressed tea cookies) Making Class”. The class will give participants an opportunity to explore the only place in Seoul where hundreds of traditional Korean houses, or Hanoks, are clustered together. After that, you will learn about Dasik which is made using bean flour, pine pollen and bean starch. Enjoy the Dasik with Korean tea after the tour!
This walking tour takes visitors around the area of Bukchon Hanok Village. Bukchon Hanok Village is an important area for culture and the arts, with its number of museums, craft workshops and historic landmarks.
Traditional Pressed Tea Cookies
Dasik is a traditional pressed cookie, made by kneading fried grain powder, Oriental medicinal herbs or flower pollen with honey. The dough is pressed with dasik molds that have carvings of birds, flowers or Chinese characters. Dasik has a unique taste that harmonizes well with the sweet honey and other ingredients. It was named ‘dasik,’ which means tea and food, because it is usually served with tea.
Don’t miss the chance to explore the morning scene of Bukchon and enjoy the Korean Sweet.
This activity is free of charge. The venue of this event will be near Anguk Station.
