|Subject||Hanji Craft Class|
On Friday, August 18th, 1:00pm-3:00pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Hanji Flower Jar making Class” Participants will make a beautiful Hanji flower jar using colorful Korean Traditional paper, Hanji and flower silk paper.
Hanji is a paper made from all natural ingredients and it has been used in Korea for centuries. In the past, it was used in daily life, making books, windows and doors. The paper is so durable that layered Hanji was even used as an armor that could stop arrows. These days Hanji is used for mostly decorative purposes such as making dolls, wrapping paper, decorative boxes, and other handicrafts.
Participants can cut and glue Hanji and form their own pattern following the personal preference. The lid has a handle with a traditional shell encrusted pattern, so the overall design is antique and elegant. The size of the flower jar that we are going to make is as following; width: 190mm*190mm, height:130mm. This jar can be used as a cookie box, a jewelry box, or a present box. The purpose of using is at your own choice.
The participation fee is 30,000 won(per person/Cash Only). You can sign up in person or by email only. To sign up by email, please email us your name, nationality and phone number.
This class is only for foreigners.
