On Thursday, August 17th, 3:00pm-4:30pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Temple Food Class for Children: Vegan taste class and Salad making” The class will give children an opportunity to learn the natural and healthy Korean temple food.
Vegan Taste class
- Learn the importance of eating nutritious food
- Taste various kind of vegetables and understand the sense of human body
- Enjoy the food with gratitude
Salad and salad dressing making
- Learn how to make salad which is made with tomato, cucumber, apple tofu etc and temple style salad dressing .
Temple food refers to the food eaten daily at Buddhist temples. At Buddhist temples, everything is onsidered a part of practice. From growing vegetables to preparing the food, monks and nuns are directly involved in the whole process. Temple food is natural, healthy and also a part of Buddhist life. Even today the 1700 - year - old tradition is alive at Korean Buddhist temples.
The venue of this event will be near Anguk Station. Specific details will be emailed to you once you have made your payment. The fee would be 10,000 won. You can sign up in person or by email only. This class is for children aged 7 to 9 years old (Only Foreigners can join this program).
