|Subject||Najeon Mirror Making Class|
On Monday, September 11th, 10:00am-12:00pm, will be taking a trip to the National Museum of Korea for a unique craft class, “Making a mirror using 나전칠기(Lacquerware inlaid with mother of pearl).” Participants will have a chance to make a lacquerware mirror with mother of pearl inlay. Lacquerware items are very beautiful and can be used as excellent gifts.
This kind of craftwork (Najeon) has a long history in Korea, and lacquerware artifacts have been unearthed in ancient tombs dating back to even before the three kingdoms period (57 BC to 668 AD).
Each participant will be able to make one mirror which they can take home. Also, if you haven’t had the chance to see the National Museum you could take this opportunity to check it out after the class.
The participation fee is 6,000 won(per person/Cash Only). You can sign up in person or by email only
