On Tuesday, October 17th, 10:00am-12:00pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Hanyangdoseong Walking Tour” The tour is an educational program operated by the Seoul City Wall Institute of the Seoul Museum of History for foreign students, children, and workers who reside in Seoul.
Hanyangdoseong was built to safeguard Hanyang (the old name of Seoul), the capital of the Joseon Dynasty, and to demark the city's boundary. It served as a city wall for 514 years (1396-1910), longer than any other city walls in the world. The name of one of the main gate is Heunginjimun Gate. It is the East Gate of Hanyangdoseong. The current Heunginjimun Gate was completed in 1869 (6th year of King Gojong's reign).
Exhibition Tour (20 min): Introduction and Tour of the Seoul City Wall Museum
Walking Tour(100 min): Heunginjimun Gate → Naksan Mountain Peak → Hyehwamun Gate
