|Subject||Korean Calligraphy Class|
On Thursday, December 14th, 2:00pm-4:00pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Calligraphy Class ‘Family Motto’ for the New Year.” What are your wishes for the New year? Do you wish happiness and health for your family? Do you wish 2018 will be a meaningful year for your family? This class will be a great time for you to write your family motto for the New Year on a Korean hanging scroll. Most Korean families have their own motto, called “ga-hoon.” This is related to the Korean’s Confucianism to teach own children good behavior and lessons.
Those who can’t write or read Korean can also write the motto easily with the teacher’s help and samples. The teacher for the class is a professional calligrapher who will help you write your chosen family motto in Korean by using brush and ink. In this class, you will practice writing the motto several times. Then, you will write the motto you have chose on a beautiful hanging scroll.
The participation fee would be 10,000 won (per person). You can sign up in person or by email only. (Only Foreigners can join this program.)
