|Subject||Draw Like an Artist Series 3: Julian Opie|
|On March 30th, 10:00am-12:00pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a class ‘Draw like an artist series 3: Julian Opie’. In the class, you will explore Minimalism and Pop art through the perspective of Opie and then create your very own stylish portrait.
Julian Opie(1958-) is a contemporary British artist known for his distinctive depictions of figures, portraits, and landscapes. The highly stylized treatment Opie gives his subjects—whereby features are created by thick black outlines and filled in with solid areas of flat color—is a blend of Pop Art and Minimalism with a wholly contemporary sensibility.
This class will be taught by Sihyun Chon, staff at Itaewon Global Village Center. Sihyun is a national board certified art teacher with several years experience of graphic designing and art consulting. She had BA Visual Communication Design in Korea and MA Cultural & Creative Industries in the UK.
You can sign up in person or by email only. The fee would be 25,000 won (All materials are included). The venue of this event will be at Itaewon Global Village Center.
