|On Thursday, May 17th, from 10:00am-12:00pm, the Itaewon Global Village Center will hold a “Bukchon Hanok Highlights” walking tour and lecture.
Bukchon Hanok Village is at the center of Seoul. “Bukchon” is made up of two Korean words: “buk” which means north and “chon” which means village. Simply put, it translates to “Northern village.” And it is home to hundreds of traditional Korean houses called “Hanok,” which dates back from hundreds of years. While some of the Hanoks that can be found in Bukchon are used as residential houses, most of them were transformed into guesthouses, restaurants, café, etc.
Through the walking tour and lecture, 10 participants will be learning more about Bukchon Village as well as the architectural and historical aspects of Hanok. This class is free of charge.
